Checking seat maps before purchase?

Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched and couldn't find anything.

Is there a way to look at a seat map before purchase, or available numbers? I know with some airlines you can see seat maps before purchase but I have yet to see this on jetblue.com? Am I missing it somewhere?

There is currently no way to view the seat map before purchase, HOWEVER, if you call 1-800-JETBLUE, the agents will be happy to check what specific seats are available for any flight.

This feature will be introduced on jetBlue.com when the new reservations system (which last I heard has been delayed) is up and running. I think it will be available to TrueBlue members...be patient, I would give it up to 15 months or so.

Just my luck, I had a feeling my return trip BOS-PHX would be full and it is! I got stuck in a middle seat, good thing there is 36'' pitch. Maybe some seats are blocked and will open before departure?

Yeah, they usually block some seats, and some people with better seats might change flights, cancel, etc... I'd keep checking back every once in a while (by clicking the link in the confirmation email). If that doesn't work, try to check in as early as possible at the airport, and select a better seat on the kiosk, or ask the gate agent.
