On-line check in
Is it possible to get exit-row or row 1 seats by checking in on-line? According to jetBlue's website description of seat availability, which seems to predate the onset of on-line check in, these seats are usually only available at the airport.
Are these seats available through the self-check-in kiosks at JFK and OAK?

nope, only can get exit row seats at the airport. As for self check in, not possible to get it through the self check in either, HOWEVER, to avoid that long line at JFK, you should do the self check in or check in online and get a boarding pass to go through security than go to the customer service counter (to the right of security) and ask to switch to a exit row seat. That always works if you dont have any check bags. You cant miss the counter, it says Customer Service / Seat Selections. Than again, you can always use the no check bag line at JFK too if it isnt that long.

Thanks. Two more questions please:
1. If I check in online, can I subsequently switch to an earlier flight?
2. If I check in using a kiosk, can I subsequently switch to an earlier flight after passing through security?

hmm... never actually tried doing that before so I wouldn't know... I would guess they'll let you do it if theres seat avaliable... I mean jetBlue do have a pretty good standby policy, no fees or other charges if u go standby on a earlier flight if theres seats left... I would just do it and see what they say and post what happens here... worst they can do is say no and spend a few hours eating sushi or something at JFK hehe.
