Checking bags without everyone there

Hi,

flying with 2 young kids and my wife tomorrow on a single reservation. 1 lap kid and 1 ticketed kid

I am mosaic 1

we were thinking about having my wife go through security with her sister and our kids while I stand in line to drop bags (3/4 bags total I’d guess). Can I do that with out them present?

thinking myself and my kid are 4 bags and my kid doesn’t have ID?

Standing in line at bag drop with my kids sounds miserable but also don’t want to stand in line and find out I can’t check their bags and now need to pay for the “extra” bags myself

If you are Mosaic-1 you can use the Mint/Mosaic line which is usually quick and efficient, though very airport dependent.

The line is pretty quick - most times you cannot drop for other people if they are not present (ID will be required, etc.). Maybe explain your situation, let them just show face and send them on their way.
