Carry-On Size?

I am a bit confused about what constitutes an acceptable "Carry-on" bag. For quite a while I have been using a Carry-on that measures 23.5 X 14 X 9.5 and have not had any issues with it. But I haven't flown with only a carry-on for a while, and looking at the baggage rules, I wonder if I can use this? Will soon be flying JB with Even More Space seating. I've also decided my old bag is pretty shot, and looking at a TravelPro Crew "carry-on" that states the dimensions are 23 X15.5 X 10. Will they refuse to allow that? They do sell a smaller size that is 21.5 X 14 X 9, but when I looked at that, it just seems too small. Thanks

Which aircraft? If it's an E190, The first bag you mentioned may or may not fit sideways. If it's an Airbus, it should fit just fine.
