Chances of blocking middle seat?
Husband and I flying with 11 month old from PVD to MCO with our lap child. I'm Mosaic so we're in the EMS seats already. We booked an aisle/window hoping for an empty middle seat (but are fine if not, so no problem there). My question: on the day of departure if the seat is still showing as open, is there any way for the gate agent to block it for us once we arrive at the airpot, or do we just take our chances once everyone has boarded?
And yes, I know the only way to guarantee a seat is to purchase one, I'm just curious of our chances.

Ha ha. You're just gambling. If you want to gamble and improve your odds, pick aisle and window seats at the very back of the plane.

As someone already said and which you know, you are taking a big chance of not having that middle seat blocked. Nearly every flight that I had with my EMS with my partner, we always had the middle seat taken with the exception of one flight. That's pretty much one out of 10 flights the middle seat wasn't taken.

You are def gambling, especially with non-rev. I always book aisle and window when I travel with my partner, then if someone is in the middle seat, I just offer to switch because everyone wants the opportunity to get out of the middle seat!!
Gate agents typically put non-rev standby travelers into any and all available EMS seats!
