Blue Basic + Even More Space

My next flight, it's a Blue Basic ticket, with Even More Space. From what I can see, the difference between Blue and Blue Basic on this particular itinerary is:
  • $100 fee if I change the ticket (I have never changed a leisure ticket)
  • I earn 2,200 fewer points
  • The ticket is $75 cheaper than Blue + Even More Space.
This seems like an excellent points/dollar value - I am giving up 2,200 points and getting $75 in return, or 3.4 per point. (My points are worth 1.3 if I try to redeem them for this ticket).

What am I missing here? One of the best values out of TB points is the opportunity to not earn them?

JetBlue continues to deliver on value on my next redeye:

Blue Basic/EMS vs Blue/EMS: $56 cheaper, 960 fewer points earned.

That's 5.8 per point - one of the better deals out there.
