Checking bags on a Blue Basic itinerary with AA status?
We have 4 people on a BOS-SJU-BOS itinerary booked via Expedia in fare code L which seems to correspond to Blue Basic. 3 of 4 people on the itinerary have AAdvantage status (two are Gold, one is Platinum). Do we get free checked bags by virtue of status or do the Blue Basic prices supersede status?
Furthermore, are we allowed overhead space by virtue of status?

Also, B6 seems to differentiate between checked bags at the ticket counter/pre-TSA (free) and gate-check bags, for which they'll apparently charge you $65 regardless of AA status, from what I understand.
