Booked Mint cheap BOS-LAS for honeymoon, what happens if Jetblue cancels my flight?

I was lucky enough to get the cheap BOS-LAS roundtrip Mint service in May. Leaves 745p from Boston to Vegas. I guess my fear is they cancel the flight because of lack of people and force me on a different flight in normal seating but pay for Mint seats.

Does this happen? How realistic is something like this?

Unfortunately with the way things have been going this is a real risk. I suppose you would have a few options, which would be to fly in Y (if a nonstop is available), or connect somewhere (likely JFK or LAX) and get Mint on the segment where offered. Or of course cancel and take a different airline, though that is the last resort.

Maybe by May things will be a little more predictable. But for now I strongly suggest keeping an eye on it. And congratulations!

May I ask how much did you pay for your flight? I'm thinking about doing Mint for JFK to Vegas in the summer

The reality is that booking anything more than 30 days out is largely notional as schedules may well change, especially if travel restrictions increase. Alternatively, you may not want to travel.

If your flight is cancelled or operates without MINT, you may cancel for a refund and book any other carrier and perhaps score a good deal in F/J. Alternatively, you may stick with your B6 tickets and have a refund of the fare difference or change to another MINT flight perhaps before or after.

The reality is that it is best to focus on getting to LAS and less on whether it is in MINT or on B6.

Delta One’s seats are comparable to the Mint 2x2s.

Two weeks ago I was able to get JFK - LAS Mint for $299 and same for the return 3/31 to 4/5. I have a feeling this flight will be canceled as I have tried this twice before and both times JetBlue canceled the flights. But I keep hoping

I would have to disagree, at least on their 767-300ER. The 767 seats are some of the oldest J seats in the USA and even the Mint 2x2s are lightyears ahead of them.

fyi, they did their second major cut for most of March this past weekend. So the schedule up until last week of March is pretty close to final at this point.

There are many things to be afraid of in the crazy post COVID world, but I wouldn't be afraid of that. They can't force you to pay Mint prices for an economy ticket. See Section 25(a) in the Contract of Carriage here.

Whenever Carrier cancels or otherwise fails to operate any scheduled flight, Carrier will, at the request of the Passenger, either (i) transport the Passenger on another of Carrier’s flights on which space is available in the same class of service at no additional charge, or (ii) provide Passenger with a full refund in accordance with Section 26.

Sorry just saw this. I used points but it was $299 for each single leg, so $1200 total in cash if converted

The EWR-LAS mint flights for April 7-26 have now been removed. Today was the last Mint flight between those airports.

Just wanted to update people that both of my flights were changed. The outbound flight was changed and my Mint was kept intact. The return flight was changed but to a non mint flight. I called and they were able to change me to the AM flight with Mint seats at no charge.

Thank you for all the advice I got. Following my ticket status daily led me to call immediately.

Thanks!
