Mint Seat Selection
Is there a Mint seat selection thread? Could not find one.
I was too late to get a solo seat on an upcoming flight, and was wondering if Row 1 was better than Row 3 or 5. On prior flights in Row 2 (solo) I liked the privacy but you have very little room for your legs in the 'tube' in front of you. Feels sort of like a straight jacket for your legs. Is Row 1 better for that since you do not have any seats in front of you for your legs to 'tuck' into? Or is it the same experience legwise?

I did sit in 1F. I was able to compare row 1 vs row 3 in terms of leg room, and row 1 clearly had more width in the leg area. So if stuck in the 2x seats, go for row 1. Now, comparing the 2x seats vs the 1x 'suite' seats, the leg room in the 2x seats, and especially row 1, was MUCH better than the 'tunnel' you get in the suites. But the biggest issue for me in the 2x seat was MUCH MUCH less storage space. Of course less privacy, but the lack of space was the biggest issue. Luckily, the seat next to mine was empty so I used that seat for my stuff. So I got lucky and was very happy with 1F.
All this said, I find the seat comfort of ANY Mint seat to be intolerable. The damn things are just poorly designed. I cannot find a comfortable setting. At first, I felt the Mint hard product was superior to United's, my other airline. After doing about a dozen Mint trips, I have flipped. The United ps hard product wins. I love the privacy of the Mint Suite, but if I have the choice of 2x in Mint vs 2x in United ps, I will go with United from now on. If I can get the Suite, I will go with Mint. I still rate Mint's soft product and food to be much better, but not enough so to overcome the horribly uncomfortable Mint seat.
