FLL Expansion Part 2

As part of the push to get to 140 daily departures, JetBlue just announced they are adding 1x FLL-MSY and bumping FLL-NAS up to 5x, likely as a response to Southwest entering.

Interesting that they are using the A320 for New Orleans yet the JFK-MSY route has been downgraded to an E190.

From FLL?

I guess I have to start paying attention more to these new routes and taking advantage of the route deals when they are announced.

Would love to see FLL-SEA or even FLL-LGB-SEA, wish there was a little better connectivity from West to East.

I am assuming that any promotions for this are over?

IS there a way to sign up to receive new routes with promos for your home airport?

Doesn't FLL-LGB-SEA already exist?

No, they switch FLL-LAX. They cannot handle it anymore.

Interesting. I keep hearing great things about LGB but my 1 experience there was during IRROPS and was anything but great. PreCheck was closed, terminal was packed wall to wall. Clearly only set up for normal operations.

LAX does seem to have more seating and such for longer wait times even there aren't many food options and restrooms.

Selfishly, I'd very much like to see FLL-ORD and FLL-MDT

ORD is tough because of gate space in the existing terminal but I would be surprised is FLL-ORD didn't show up as part of this 140 target.

Yes, the gate space at ORD has been problematic. I'm hoping they could squeeze an additional light or two a day in to accommodate flights to FLL.

Right, they don't have enough gate space available. Due to gate restricted. They don't have enough room.
