Construction is on time AFAIK. There will be a new EI lounge inside and rumors of a few other special things coming.

Yes, T5i is an addition to T5 which will have 4-5 gates for international arrivals. I think this will free up planes since they won't have to arrive at T4 and be towed over.

All good for Jetblue and I would expect some announcements regarding new int'l partners

In addition to the flexibility to add partners and such, the arrival of all international flights at T5 rather than T4 is the equivalent of 1+ new aircraft in the fleet in terms of utilization efficiency.

T5i

There are pictures of it on twitter if you were following David J Barger on twitter. Not much to see but better than nothing.

No. At least not with upper deck boarding. And I doubt they'll have gate hold rooms big enough either.

I spoke with one of the subcontractors in the T5 food court.
They were doing some work in anticipation of even further expansion.
There may be even more T5 even after T5i.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9930; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.1.0.1066 Mobile Safari/534.11+)

Jetbridges are attached and the exterior construction looks completed. Can't really see inside, but it looks good.

Also, there is room to expand further towards T7 if desired, it seems. That's just a parking lot (for planes) now.

Would be really nice if they connected T5 and T7 airside. It's been a loooong time since I've been through JFK. Is that even feasible, or am I dreaming?

Definitely possible. It is a straight shot. But a decently long walk, even by airport standards.

Yeah, me too. I haven't visited JFK for a long time since the old Delta terminal 3 is being demolished. My last trip that I flew to JFK for my mileage runs trip. I got cheap ticket is $225 RT all-in. I took on redeye flight and turnaround back to PHX.
