STT-BOS

Flew from Boston to St. Thomas a week ago on the first B6 non-stop of the 'season' and returned yesterday (10/6). I was pleased that we did not stop in San Juan to re-fuel on the return flight as had been originally scheduled so we had a direct flight! I do not know if it was because the flight was only half full so that the Airbus 320 did not need to re-fuel just for this particular flight, or if B6 has decided they can make it all the way back to Boston safely after having gained more experience flying the route now.

Flew STT-BOS on Thu, 1/24. Plane was maybe 2/3's full. Pilot announced with full fuel we would be too heavy for Runway 10 (the default arrival and deaprture runway @ STT into the prevailing Easterly Tradewinds) and we would be taking off on Runway 28. The departure for that runway is over the Caribbean whereas Runway 10 departure requires a steep climb over the island hills/mountain. No need to stop @ SJU to refuel! Nice!
