Flight points question

So I went to the true blue webpage and I must confess it is not easy to decipher basic info on flight points. So, if you fly BTV-JFK on B6 you would earn 268 flight points for o/w which is the mileage between the two points? Plus whatever bonus if you book on jetblue.com? Is this correct?

In their example they had JFK-SFO earning 1734 flight points which is not the mileage between these two city pairs so Im a little confused.

Nope.

Earning is based on the base fare of the flight. You earn 3 points per dollar and an additional 3 points per dollar (6 total) if booked online.

It is spelled out on the earning page: https://trueblue.jetblue.com/group/trueblue/earn-points.
