Is Rail pass valid on NEX?

Is Rail pass valid on NEX?

I probably am growing old but after 10 minutes of searching this thread I havent found an answer on the question whether Railpass is valid on NEX - can someone confirm?

The JR Railpass is valid on the NEX. You will still need to book a seat reservation to use the NEX.

If you are talking about JR Japan Rail Pass, yes it is valid. As for other types of railpass, you might want to check http://www.japanrailpass.net

However, if you're arriving at Narita, there are usually some seats left on the city-bound trains, so you can make a "reservation" a few minutes before your train departs, in which case it's really just an assigned seat.

And trains are frequent enough that if the first one happens to be booked, there's always another one in a short time.

The exception is major travel periods, such as Golden Week (April 30-May 5), New Year's, and O-bon season (mid-August).
