Transit Security
Our Thai Airways flight arrives from Bangkok into Narita Terminal 1 Gate 41 at 3:45 PM. Our Air Canada flight departs from Terminal 1 Gate 44 at 5 PM. My thinking is that one has to go through Transit Security before proceding to the departure Gate. How far is it from Gate 41 to Transit Security and does it normaly take more than a few minutes getting through Security?
Thanks Much

Your 75 minute connection is pretty safe. I think the official Minimum Connection Time within T1 South is 45 minutes. In the event that your arriving flight is delayed, there will be staff to assist passengers with tight connections.

From the gate, you go up one level (escalator or elevator).
Then you have to travel (walk or sections of travellator) to the transit security
Once you pass security, you take escalator down to the main airside area
Depending on time of day, can be a long line. There should a priority line for *G/J, though unsure if that priority line is operating
Edit:jib71 has a better map above of the transit security area
