ATMs in some Family Marts won't accept my Japanese cash card (MUFJ bank).

Sure, my ability to predict whether I'll be able to withdraw cash at a Family Mart is a first world problem par excellence but it's also a symptom of something bigger; While Japan often adopts foreign things and improves on them (convenience stores, toilet seats, KitKats) there are also instances where it imitates the form while missing the point.

is that your experience???
I find it hard to believe that apple would enable Suica and Pasmo transit cards in their wallet 1) when it doesnt work for USA
users and 2) it only works with Japanese credit cards and 3) you need to set up in app which is not available in English.

any ideas how I can enable either Suica or Pasmo in apple wallet??
Have you tried going to a station to add money using cash?

Also, I think for my first time I had a physical card with some money on it, and transferred it to the app / wallet. Do you have a physical card you can try?

What kind of credit card are you using? Currently visa cards are broken for funding, you need to try mastercard or amex.

interesting. It was a visa. I’ll try MC and also read the thread suggested above. Thanks all.

UPDATE: MC worked like a dream adding Suica in apple wallet, didn’t work on Pasmo. Didn’t need to use Suica app.
