Kayaking in Japan

Does anyone have much experience with sea kayaking in Japan?

We spent part of GW kayaking around Shiraishi and a nearby uninhabited island called Kajiko. Now we are looking to expand our range.

Ideally the Seto Naikai, from Himeji to Okayama. Also thinking about Wakayama, Mie and possibly Nihonkai (Uradome), though the surf up there is pretty intimidating.

We have also done a bit on Biwako, the canals of Omi-hachiman, and the uninspired coastline of Suma/Ashiya/Nishinomiya.

We have some ideas, such as Ushimado-Maejima, Houden-Inujima, Awaji, Tokushima etc.

I didn't do it, but kayaking seems to be popular at Miyajima.

"In 1999 and 2000, with my intrepid partners, I sailed a small trimaran and paddled a sea kayak from Japan to Alaska."
