It's about midnight in Tokyo, and things will now deteriorate rapidly through morning:

My flight NH811 actually landed ahead of schedule. :) But I’m glad I didn’t risk it. Stay safe, everyone in Japan!

Many public transportation not in service this morning, many are saying service will resume around 8 - 10 a.m. Many services are closed this morning.

Surprisingly Shinkansen (Bullet Train), All of them; Tokaido, Tohoku, Jyoetsu, Nagano, etc. are all planning to operate on regular schedule from first train of the day on 6 a.m.

Seibu Line is running.but not on schedule. Tokyo Metro (subway) is running, but few lines has a part which run above ground. Those part which run above ground is not running.

HND International Terminal had some damage, but looks like terminal itself is open.

Update:
Tokyo-Odawara segment of Shinkansen is nor running. Found objects on track.

Headed into the office this morning, but will be incredibly sleepy just from the sheer noise last night from the wind and the rain. Hell of a time when the core passed over Kanto early today.

Japanese salary men! Most public transportation is not running this morning, but even in rain, wind, storm, typhoon Japanese salary men will be at work as usual! :)

Somebody’s gotta be on top of things when over half the office is stuck at home!

(Also it’ll be an incredibly easy morning because all of our morning meetings got cancelled due to lack of personnel)

I am off this morning. :p Cloud is breaking and blue sky is starting to peek out at Tokyo.

Tokyo Sky Tree will open at 9 a.m., an hour delay. Tokyo Tower will open at 9 a.m. as usual. If you can get there...

Still sitting in Chitose (Sapporo) airport waiting for my flight to HND which is now delayed 2 hours despite the typhoon being long gone. Ah well....que sera sera.

Corn soup for lunch in the ANA lounge. Apparently CTS has no airside restaurants, according to the lounge hostess I asked.

The latest storm track shows #15 blowing northeast out to sea later this evening, but the eye and all the other nasty bits are currently sitting on top of the main airway between Tokyo and Sapporo, unfortunately.

台風一過

晴れ、暑い、馬鹿熱い!

どうした?過ごしやすい秋空はどこへ

What the %#$&..., Tokyo recorded 36.2 C (97.2F) today, highest temperature of the year! My shirt is soaking wet like I just jumped into a swimming pool!

They serve soup now? Was just there a month ago. The only food were those Ana lounge rice crackers.

Catching up on the evening news at home, and the situation at Narita currently is... less than ideal.

Due to a mix of factors (fallen trees, damage to power transmission lines and systems), all Narita Express services, all Skyliner services, and all buses to and from Narita were suspended through the end of the day. Even the regular local trains are suspended to and from the airport because they share the same tracks.

Seems like Haneda fared a little bit better, since the Keikyu Line and the Monorail have both been up and running again since this morning.

Yeah, sounds like NRT got hit hard, there was not public transportation to get out from the airport and arriving passengers were stuck at the airport. People at the hotel told me they took 7 hrs. to get to the hotel in Tokyo from NRT on Monday. News on Tuesday morning has said 13300 people spent overnight at NRT terminal.

In parts of Chiba prefecture, 4 days of no water and no electricity has now ended.
