Tokyo car meets?
I'm attracted to the Tokyo car scene from being a car geek myself and having seen numerous videos about it. Are these something publicly announced in advance and would be easily accessible by foreigners? Anyone from here have attended and have experiences to share?

His series of "A CAR NERD'S GUIDE TO JAPAN": Link
I do have one personal experience to share. On my first trip to Japan, one evening I was walking in Osaka and passed by a parking garage full of modified Mercs. As it was something totally new and unique, I proceeded to take a picture from the entrance. Barely got a shot out when two/three men, in dark suits, came out of nowhere and approached me. They were stern-faced and very firmly stated that no pictures were allowed. After the last word was said, I scurried away asap.

There's not as much of a car scene as there was 15-20 years ago. People still gather at places like daikoku futo in the evening but it's not every evening like it used to be and often they're asked to move along fairly quickly now. if you gave some hint of when you'd be visiting and what sorts of things you're interested in I could probably help but I am a bit out of it these days. I've done lots of events like the auto salons, time attack up at tsukuba, F1, nismo festival, D1, yoho car show etc to workshop visits/tours to the more underground stuff like highway racing or late night drifting in Hakone before the police cracked down heavily on that kind of thing. There's still lots to do but a lot of it is a bit out of Tokyo so some hint of interests, time of travel etc would help a lot in giving suggestions.

IMOA--I know this post is a bit dated but I thought I'd reach out anyway.
I'm in Tokyo this week and would love to see a car meet. I tried to find someone to pay to go to Daikoku PA today but no luck.
Any suggestions at all on what to see today or this week?
Many Thanks,
Brent
