HND Observation Deck
Great deck. Located on the top part of the international Terminal.
Lots of different places to view aircraft and some gates. Unlike the deck at NRT T1, there is minimal seating here. There are a few tables and chairs under the roof cover, up against the window.
It was extremely hot and humid on this day last month (July) but well worth the time to enjoy the scenery.
If you have proper camera equipment or a newer phone, you can get some great shots of the take-offs on the runway right in view. The other runway is behind the other terminals in the distance and along the water.
After the LH 340 left, a LH 747 arrived and then left and then an AC 773..and of course, all the local birds.

For those who haven't been, here is one way to get up to the deck.
I took the escalator up from the far left side of the terminal near the Royal Park hotel.
There are a few restaurants and some tables and then you can either take the elevator up if you have carry-ons or stroller etc., or you can take the stairs that are part of this really cool walkway.
Once up on the top level, you walk straight, you'll see part of the departure check-in counter area below. You continue and then turn left and there is a door to the outside deck.
I came back in from the deck through a different door and ended up in a retail area with shops.

HND-Intl deck is also very nice to visit in the evening. They have nice sort of ambiance lighting. On a hot summer night, they have a bunch of furin (Japanese bells that ring when the wind blows) hanging that make soothing, cooling sounds.

Most of the major Japanese airports have outdoor viewing decks like this at each terminal. Only exception I can think of is KIX, where I guess the roof structure simply doesn't allow for it.
