Fukuoka Rental Car - Hakata station - How long does it take

Hi FT

I'll have a total of 6 full days and wanted to spend half the time in Fukuoka and the other half driving around Kyushu.

I was wondering how long does the rental car transaction take? Is it a quick 15 minutes and go or we talking much longer?

I do have a international drivers lisc.

Thanks!

It generally takes me about 15 minutes to register, check out the car, etc. with a Japanese license. I don't imagine it would take much more time with an IDP as well. However, if you're renting during a peak period, you could be waiting for a while at the counter for an agent.

Took me about 15 minutes at Toyota by Kanazawa station. I had a note of the booking (in Japanese) ready, and they had a Japanese-to-English laminated cheat sheet for the different charges and steps in the process, along with iPads loaded with Google Translate.

It then took a day to figure out the satnav and weird box-on-box car they'd given me.

10-15 minutes if you choose Toyota rent a car that has their booth in the arrivals exit area. The others need to ferry you to their locations about 5 mins away.

Fukuoka and Kagoshima

For both cities, there were rental car agencies near the main JR rail station.
I would have no hesitation trying to rent a car from either place based on the distance.

In this case, I did end up taking the rail instead of driving.

Thanks all!
