overnight layover at NRT
I'll have a short overnight layover at NRT during an upcoming trip (arriving in the evening, departing in the early morning the next day).
I assume I can't spend the night in any of the airline lounges, so I guess getting a room somewhere close to the airport would be the most convenient option.
Does anyone have experience with this place? http://www.apo-resthouse.com/english/acc/ Is the hotel actually inside the airport? The website seems to suggest this, but it also mentions taking a comp. shuttle bus. (I'll be arriving on AC and departing on NH)
Any other options I should consider?
Thanks in advance!

I've never stayed there but it is on the airport premises. You can actually walk there from T1 in about 5 minutes but it's not recommended at night unless you know the route.

In my upcoming trip I'm also overnight'ing - but in Narita itself (around 8-9km away from the airport). Think quite a number of other posters in other FT threads recommended staying in Narita as there's a little bit more to see/do/eat compared to the airport proper.
FWIW, I've booked the APA Hotel Keisei Narita Ekimae which is cheap and has a shuttle bus to the airport ... but as I haven't actually stayed yet I can't comment on how good or bad it is.

I stayed there in October 2013, and it was just OK. The room was small, even by Japanese standards, but immaculate. However, the hotel restaurant was of poor quality, so I would recommend having dinner and breakfast at one of the many nearby restaurants and/or fast food outlets.

Narita Airport Rest House is meant for a passenger like you, overnight transit passengers arriving late and departing early. Looking for a place right near the airport and planning to do just quick eat and sleep, nothing else. It is clean and security is no problem. If you are looking for a place nothing fancy but able to get good sleep during the transit, then this will satisfy your needs.

I recently stayed at Hilton Narita which wasn't too expensive and was only 10 mins on the regular shuttle bus. Very good room size for Japan and clean. Several restaurants and a good bar which did a decent burger and beer after a week of Japanese food.
