Takeda Castle Ruin - Castle in the Air, Japanese Machu Picchu

This has never been discussed in this forum.
It has not been written about by Lonely Planet.

But it's got quite good reviews on tripadvisor.

500,000 tourists visited it last year.

I am very interested to go there. Did anyone here have a chance to do so?

Interesting. Here is another place that I never heard of before which might be interesting to visit also, at least for an hour. But it's sort of in the middle of nowhere!

No, never been there but it is on Japanese media all over now. Cannot avoid hearing about this if watch TV in Japan. Unfortunately there are already concerns…, as Takeda castle ruin got popular many people have visited. It is already becoming challenge to keep the ruin in current state and same time keep the place open to all visitors.

You"ll love this video.

In it, the doll maker says the nearest decent hospital is 90 minutes away from there. So it must be in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, Takeda Castle Ruin was not known widely ten years ago.

This thread has got my curiosity really piqued. The castle ruins is about 90 minutes by car from where we live and I have never heard of this place.

Will put it on my list to go places in the spring.

I went here April this year....about 90 min by car from Kobe area. It's not worth it.

Be prepared to walk. They make you park at the bottom and walk to the top. It's quite a Hike!
