Kushiro

Ok, I am not going to post a photo travelogue of my recent sojourn to Hokkaido but I thought I'd address the conventional wisdom about "Kushiro, the foggiest place in Japan." Or maybe I was just lucky.

You were absolutely lucky -- what gorgeous photos. I keep meaning to make a trip up there... An average high of 21 degrees in August sounds great to me!

Wow. Thanks for all the kind words. Yes, I saw some migratory birds but I wasn't equipped for wildlife photos. My longest lens was 200 mm. Maybe another time.

Ok. I didn't want to bore folks with a long "vacation slide show" but I guess I can post a few more.

A couple from Hakodate harbor, one from the Asahidake Onsen Ropeway and some of the fall color I found near the top and one more sunset from the Kushiro bridge.

Nearly mentioned that I was happy to be bored... But realised that the comment could be misinterpreted.

Beautiful photographs, really pleased you shared them with us.
