[QUOTE=AlwaysAisle;34277069]

Talk about Japanese singer worse than Yutaka Mizutani, how about Kumiko Ooba?
/QUOTE]

She’s bad but nowhere near as bad as Mizutani imho. His dancing? is pretty bad, too.
Maybe I’m too hard on him.
He has 10 albums and 20 singles for crying out loud.

I like Begin, one of the Japanese bands/singers I listen to. I think one of the popular hits by Begin is Nadasousou (涙そうそう).

I also like Sonotoki Umaretamono (その時生まれたもの).

I did not know that was their song. I always thought that was written by Moriyama Naotaro’s mom (who's famous for the Zawawa song). I don’t know Begin too well, but their song that instantly comes to my mind is Shimanchu no Takara.

Someone start a Jpn music thread.

This is definitely one of my favorite from them! Along with 三線の花 (sanshin no hana)、オバー自慢の爆弾鍋 (oba jiman no bakudan nabe), and of course of my favorite drinking song オジー自慢のオリオンビール (oji jiiman no orion biiru).

For nada sou sou, I do hear it out and about more sung by Rimi Natsukawa, which is an awesome rendition. Honestly, I can't think of any of their songs I don't like. I shamelessly sing their music often when driving home from my weekly trip to CoCo Ichibanya in Irvine, CA.

Agreed. I spent two weeks straight in a Tokyu Stay in 2021 and the washer dryer combo was excellent. It took over two hours to wash and dry a full load. I do not jest. And it was free! In my room! Heh! Heh!

There's a loose group of retired men in my neighbourhood that spend their weekends sitting on benches near a 7-11 drinking all day. They are quite chatty and loud, sometimes the local police sit and talk with them and they don't seem to mind the public drinking. There's also plenty of drinking in parks, so it doesn't seem to be illegal in many public places. On the other hand, walking round and sipping a beer, especially in an onsen, might well get you angry looks.
Sanya, in Taito-Ku, has the same deal going on. A bar opens up before 9:00 a.m. and old geezer bums sit on stools drinking OZEKI sake all day long.
