I looked at this hotel a while ago but it seemed far away from Roppongi, more like 2 miles from Roppongi station rather than 200 yards.

Is there a lot going on in the vicinity of the Tokyo Prince, and is the hotel itself decent? Would it also be a good option for transport options?

I'll grant that it's not within 200 yards, but it's also not two miles...I've walked this distance many times in about 20 minutes.

The hotel is a solid 3 star establishment, and is within walking distance of the Tokyo Tower, Zojoji Temple, Shiba Park, and Hamamatsucho Station on the JR line. But to be honest, if it seems that the walk from here to Roppongi is too far, then it is probably not the place for you.

If RC and GH are out of your price range, I'd look at the Prince or the ANA (Intercontinental). Oakwood used to rent for short stays but they now require a 30 day minimum.

I would love to stay at the RC/GH/IC on a different trip, but this one is really going to be about using the hotel just for crashing the night. If there is a nice gym or pool I won't even have the chance to give it a go this time around.

Anything else close to the action in Roppongi worth recommending in the 3-4 star range? Tokyo Prince is a backup plan I guess, but I'd prefer something closer to where it's all happenin'...

All joking aside the alternatives I have mentioned , The Ibis and the B Roppongi are quite suitable even if they curl the nose hairs of some of the high rollers on this board ! You might try

to find hotels closer to your needs !

Any reason why the Ibis site is not showing the Roppongi hotel at all, and only displays the Shinjuku one?

Thanks, that explains it.

Any thoughts on the Roppongi Hotel S (looks quite nice, plus free internet and breakfast) or the Hotel Villa Fontaine?

Any ways to get special rates at the ANA Intercontinental, or is their website pretty much guaranteed to have the best rate out there?

Does 66k Yen sound ok for this hotel? Does anyone stay there often - is it a decent choice for someone who wants to stay in Roppongi?

66k for one night? You'd be better off booking the RC or GH instead!

I'm pretty certain it was a double/twin room. Are there any sites with promo codes or something like that or is that all a waste of time and booking directly on the hotel web site will always give the best prices?
