NRT T1 construction?

Hey all,

I'm headed to NRT next week and I'm hearing there's construction in T1 that forces you head to T2 for customs and immigration processing. Can anyone confirm this, and give me an idea of how much of a pain it is?

Thanks!

Well, that should put an end to all those "I can skate through T1 in under 5 minutes" posts

Where did you hear this? There's no notice on the website (in English or Japanese), and I highly doubt NRT would be doing major construction during peak travel season.

Also, seeing as how they are physically separate buildings, I would be very surprised if they had to bus everyone from T1 to T2 for CIQ.

In short -- don't worry about it. There is no such construction going on.

No, that is incorrect information. NRT does not have such major construction work in the current terminal buildings anytime soon.

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the info!

The info came from my worksite in Japan letting us know about the arrivals to NRT.

Knowing what I know of NRT, that would be a huge PITA and a super long walk between terminals. Plus we were told we'd have to walk back to T1 to where the bus would take us to site. It didn't seem feasible and was asking a lot of folks coming off of long haul international flights.

If anything, I would have thought T1 flights would be dumped at T2 or there would be some sort of busing to customs.

I wonder what else your "worksite" told you?

The only construction that I know about is a new LCC terminal, which obviously has no impact on T1.
