First time for me

In 19 years, this is the first time that I have ever experienced signficant train delays every single day of a five day work week, almost all due to the dreaded jinshinjiko.

This is all anecdotal, but it really feels like such suicides have really picked up since Abenomics began...

Seems like there's no consensus even on something like the "official" statistics. But - if you're interested in the issue - you might want to watch this:

One theory I have heard is that the NIKKEI has almost doubled in the 9 months since Abe took the PM post back, but took a 10% tumble in the last week of May. That drove some day traders to desperate measures...

That's what leverage can do I guess. But if they were leveraged on the way up.... then???? 17% down from the peak at the current price. Persistent since the 23rd.

Wasn't there something about major delays on trains yesterday (Tuesday)? I heard it on the car radio around 5 pm.

Nikkei down 500.

There was an unexploded bomb found recently, so they scheduled a few hours downtime for the lines in the area to allow the bomb squad to remove it.

EDIT: Seems to have made international news.
