HND to NRT at night

My friend arrives at HND at 10:30PM and has a flight out of NRT the following morning at 11.

What's the best thing to do? It seems like most of the rail and train services shutdown at midnight.

Thoughts?

I would simply grab a hotel room in Tokyo and catch the Narita Express in the morning. It starts running before 6:00 am but for an 11:00 am departure, I'd think an 8:00 am+/- N'Ex would be fine.

More specifically, I'd take the Keikyu line train from Haneda to Shinagawa, stay overnight at one of the several hotels near Shinagawa station (Prince, etc), then take the Narita Express from Shinagawa to NRT in the morning.

Yes, Haneda is so close to central Tokyo that transportation at that hour is no problem. I haven't taken the trip since the days when Haneda was Tokyo's only international airport, but Hyperdia says that it takes 20 minutes to Shinagawa and you can leave as late as 11:41PM.

If on a budget, you can go up to near Ueno, a bit more cheaper business hotels in the Ueno area, catch the Keisei Skyliner or regular Keisei line in the morning, and save even more money over the NEX. Depends on your budget.
