FUK check in time (going to PVG)

I need to catch the CA flight from FUK to PVG at 15:25.

I can't currently get to the airport earlier than the 14:03 JR rail train.

Considering the 15 minutes needed to take a bus to the International terminal, does anyone know if this is enough time?

I will be checking bags.

Thank you,

I'm with ya buddy. I like to show up at the airport whenever it is convenient for me, not the airline.

Where are you coming in from? Alternate modes of transportation, or changing your hotel the night before might be better.

Also, how many people are traveling? Is the OP part of a larger group, or is he just going to FUK himself?

A very convenient way time wise, comfort wise, is to get off the JR train/subway/bus at Hakata Station. Walk to the Chikushi-Guchi exit and take a cab to the international terminal (800-1000 JPY).I believe they close the checkin 1 hour before. Beware that JL is the ground handling agent for CA, and you will be checking in with them! If you are *G use the ANA lounge, as the JL lounge is !

Thanks!!!!

I have a meeting near the Otake station that should end around 11:00 AM. Changing trains at Hiroshima gets me to Hakata at 13:40. This will work, right? (How long is the cab ride?)

Could I get access to the JL lounge? I have status with *A, but not OW.

Perfect, descend from the Shinkansen platform and exit the building immediately. The cab ride will be about 10 minutes in bad traffic. Ask the driver for "Fukuoka Kuukou kokusai terminaru" . Alight from the taxi at the first or second entrance of the terminal. If you are flying in Biz class you will be given access to the JL lounge, you should also get access with your *G card to JL lounge(YMMV)...but you will prefer the ANA lounge, which you have access to. After going through emigration turn right and the NH lounge will be on your right!

Off-topic posts deleted. If you wish to have "fun" with words, perhaps PMs to one another would work best. Thanks.

That's right, mustn't have any fun around here! Good thing there's none of that in the following thread about Fukuoka, or it wouldn't have been selected for TalkMail.

Where the FUK? A ramenous early-morning tonquest

Thanks again. I made the flight with plenty of time to spare. A couple of notes:
  1. The taxi I took had big pictures of credit cards on the back left door. I assumed that meant he accepted credit cards so I did not make sure to have cash on me. Turns out (if I understood his miming, I don't speak a word of Japanese and he didn't speak a word of English) that credit cards are only accpeted by prepayment - where, I don't know. He followed me to a money changer in the airport so that I could pay him
  2. The NH lounge does not open until 16:00, so I was directed to the JL. You are correct, it was pretty much worthless.

The pictures refer to the taxi vouchers that some credit card companies issue. It is confusing and it has caused some embarrassment to people before, but ... what would you have done if the taxi didn't have those pictures? Stopped at an ATM on the way to the airport?

Yeah, as Jib points out it is for taxi vouchers......Did you not see the Citi bank and 7/11 ATM to the left of the money changer/bank? The JAL lounge is vile, too bad there were no Star Alliance flights leaving at the same time! Glad I could be of some help!

I would have gone back into the train station and located an ATM to take out money before getting into the taxi.

The Taxi I took in NGS where I originally landed took my credit card and some of the other taxis I rode in seemed equiped for credit cards (though my escort paid cash so I can't say for sure), so I was getting optimistic.

I hate changing money, but I changed enough money so that I can pay for a Taxi from the Shin Osaka station to the Osaka Hilton next week. I don't want to go through this again.

I changed money on the second floor, there are more changers on the third floor, maybe the ATMs are there/

Thanks again for your help, really appreciated.
