NRT Airside ATM

My wife and I are going to Japan from Vancouver together but I disembark in Tokyo and she changes planes and continues to Osaka.

We know where the ATMS are AFTER customs and immigration but since only one of us is clearing customs, we need an AIRSIDE ATM. (this whole problem will be mitigated with two atm cards)

Does anybody know if there are any? If so where?

Tsk. You're obviously not paying attention to the press releases from Narita Airport: http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/whats_new/091007.html

But I'm not sure if this will help you. I believe the new airside ATMs (first in Japan!) are on the other side of transit security. So if you go landside at NRT, and only your wife goes through to the transit area, you won't be able to use that ATM.

Looks like you need 2 ATM cards.

Yes, they are.

How about using travelers' checks ? Or you can send the card from Narita to Osaka by express registered mail (delivery on the next day before noon) or "Yokuasa 10 ji Yubin" ( delivery guaranteed next day morning by 10am).

Thanks all.

I always can use my Canadian debit card to withdraw money from the atm. Just hate the idea of withdrawing money with service charges and exchange fees when I have money in a Japanese bank account.
