NRT question

If I arrive in Narita terminal one and have a connecting flight departing from terminal one, can I go to Terminal 2 just to have a look? Do they check the boarding pass when a passenger wants to go to the other terminal?
Thanks.

I would say no.

To get to T2 from T1 airside, you need to clear security at T1. Either a ticket or a boarding pass (or equipvalent) needs to be shown to clear this. You would also need to tell a bus driver which flight you would be taking at T2.

Landside, you can clear T1 passport control but to enter airside at T2, you need a boarding pass.
