1R slide was also used for exit aside from 1L/4L.

One of the passengers uploaded the video on twitter after she was able to escape safely

I don't think it taxied anywhere I think it rolled onto the grass.
You can see the collapse on the live stream.

I realize that the crash happens around 16:00 in the recording and JL516 confirms landing clearance around 15:00. I don't hear Tower actually clearing them to land but that might be part of the earlier garble.

Getting on NH 844 to Haneda in 3 hours, but expecting that to be diverted to Narita if they dont cancel it. I imagine HND is going to be a mess for a few days while they investigate and remove the wreckage of both planes.

Aircraft on the ground are now taxiing back to the terminals after holding position for the last two hours.

It's pretty garbled but:

13:13 JL516 continue approach
14:53 landing clearance
15:01 readback
15:13 JA772A taxi instructions
17:36 Fire on 34R

Any word on re opening? I would have thought using the other 3 Runways would be low risk, or is there some type of mandatory pause ?

so glad they managed to evacuate but sad for the coast guard crew,

as per twitter discussion below, the JCG aircraft was instructed to taxi to holding point C-1 or was it C-5 so there is a possibility that either it stopped beyond the holding point or it misunderstood the instructions and made an incursion to runway 34R although i would go for the former

They won't reopen while the fire crews are still working on the JAL plane.

A Japanese Twitterer posted a photo with the brightness and contrast adjusted to show a massive dent in the nose cone...

The aircraft that had departed the terminals on their way to Runways, now appear to be heading back to the terminals.

C1 on that diagram is now C2; they extended the runway and added a new taxiway C1.

There was a Delta A330 holding at the current C1 when the JAL plane came in.

Yes, the OP of the tweet corrected it with the updated runway map and so if Delta was holding at C-1, then the JCG aircraft was probably at C-5 looking at the video footage / given that it only needs a shorter distance for take-off

At HND now for an NH 118 to SEA. Arrived around 6:15pm local time and check-in was closed. At Terminal 3 check-in now just standing and waiting.

Looks like all flights have been canceled except some long haul intl flights.

Information has been sparse.

Some airlines have checked in passengers but instructed them to not clear security as they arent sure if flights will take off.

Looking at my own flight it looks like the inbound has typically landed around 7pm local time which means whatever plane theyre planning to use likely isnt here.

Only issue is my real destination is DEN and I have a separate SEA-DEN ticket on UA. Such are the risks you accept when doing so.
