Anyway to find out how full Y is for my flight?

Hi guys - I am flying JL5 on Sunday, and looking at the seatmap, it seems like it's about half empty.

Can I take that as that my flight is not so full? (as I don't believe JL sells non-seat-selectable tickets?)

Just trying to figure out whether I should bid for premium economy or not.

JAL sells plenty of tickets that don't include seat selection. And even for those that does include seat selection, people may not have selected seats in advance.

But looking at the selling class at the moment, it is certainly not close to fully booked.

Just call the airline and ask. I've had good luck asking reservation agents how full a flight is, whether the seat next to me is likely to stay empty, etc. Of course this can change.
