Upgrading Business Fare to First with miles

I am looking to book travel from SFO to Manila via Tokyo in Business Class.

i am considering using miles to upgrade to F... what is the required mileage both o/w & roundtrip?

Also Do i need to book a specific class of Ticket in order to upgrade?

45,000 miles per leg. I think all booking classes are possible. Though I am not 100% sure about booking class I

That seems pretty high for a one way upgrade to F from J. How are promotional cash upgrades?

I've seen them on US-Asia tickets. Also, SFO upgrade should be 40k only.

45K in advance, and 40K in the airport. I was only looking at in advance upgrades.

Most of my bookings are from our corporate TA, so can't do it online. Unless the new homepage improved things. Anyway it is just 5000 miles, not a big deal

in that case they would have quoted you the discounted amount. Never had issue using the discounted campaign when booked with TA when I had to call in for this online only discount. I hope the Amadeus “enhancement” doesn’t take this away.
