A bit surprising order. But I guess they are looking to get some bigger planes in quick, and additional A350s are not easy to come by quickly.

Didn't AA and CX just pushed back their A350 orders? JL could have taken those production spots.

Didn't Mr. Leahy claim that the push backs did not matter as they anyway overbooked their production capacity? And they need to catch up on the existing delay as well....

CX is waiting their first A35K delivery, original schedule is Apr 2019.

Seems JAL this order is cater capacity growth during Yr2020 Olympic game, and once A35K arrived JAL may convert to intl. config for more intl. service.

No idea. I've only read those cancellations/delayed delivery slots will be "reallocated".

JAL?????2019??????????? | ??????? | JAL?????

Looks like JL isn't going to reallocate these orders to its "LCC" after all. First domestic 788 will be deployed on HND-ITM from Fall 2019

Maybe they have come to their senses about the lcc project, and sent it the way of Ted, Joon, Song, and a few others.....

Or they will just reconfigure existing NEO fleet instead Pretty sure newer deliveries are more efficient than the first batch JL received.

Considering the dark side has 385 on their domestic 787-9, that sounds about right. Welcome to 3-3-3 in Y.
