Changes on Air France (AF) Award Scheme

For application received on/after March 28, 2012, AF "Zone Scheme Award" will be changed to "Distance Scheme Award", Required Mileage will be determined based on the distance of total award itinerary (total of sector mileage for each sector and surface sector) and classes of service.

Thanks for this. I am assuming that JL miles can be used for any scheduled AF flight? Just wanted to confirm, as the rules indicate "Eligible Routes", but that doesn't seem to be defined anywhere.
Also, does anyone have any sense of the fuel surcharge/cost of redeeming a transatlantic AF award with JL miles? I'm thinking of moving over some SPG points, but would love to find this out before doing so. Thank you!

Do you have any idea what award bucket the JAL awards on Air France book into? It seems that partner awards are open using AS miles, but not JL ones... at least from their website (which is a bit wonky, I'm sure many of you realize!).
