Jal HKG-NRT
I will be flying for the first time JAL in Y from HKG-NRT. Aircraft looks a like a 747 and I wanted to know if I can expect any AVOD or anytype of IFE inflight?
In addition what are the normal food choices for Y Passengers? Thank you

Here is the March menu for JL732/736 http://www.jal.com.hk/zhhk/inflight/meal/economy.htm
In general I don't like the ex-HKG meals. Two of the worst in-flight Y meals I had on JAL are all on ex-HKG flights. By the way they have been serving that Hunan Chicken since December! But I guess you are flying in April during the Easter holidays, so it might change. ex-NRT/HND flights have much better meals in Y!

Or if possible 3/26 JL736. Even though it is a 744 with MAGIC-I only. It has the Shell Flat seat, not the regional one. And if you have status, you can select the F cabin with Solo seats used as C (but currently all solo seats have been assigned). Of course there's always a risk that they will swap out the aircraft with another 744.

They had one few years ago with obvious sign saying passengers who have online checked in already can use that counter. On my recent visits the sign is gone but the small display above one of the business class check-in counters says "web check-in". So I am not sure whether it mean web check-in business class passengers or all classes...but that counter used to be for web check-in passengers...
You can call JAL HK office (2523 0081) to find out. They usually pick up pretty quick.
