Last Supper Tickets
I hope someone has a good source for Last Supper tickets in Milan. Two of us will be in Milan only on Sunday, May 25 from about noon on and we'd like to see the Last Supper. We've tried viator, selectitaly, cfa, ticketitaly, and theworldismine -- all to no avail. They say tickets are not available. Is it possible that all the tour operators are sold out for that day? Or am I missing something?
Thanks for any input. Also -- we're coming by train from Florence and staying at the Hilton Milan that night before we fly to our next country early the next morning. Any great "must do" suggestions for the afternoon/evening?

yeah -- that happened for me too, but what really happens on all these websites is that you give them all the info including your CCD number and then you get a "request confirmation" -- then a few days later you get another e-mail that says "we're sorry, the date you requested is not available." The CCD isn't charged until they actually can confirm the tickets are available.
BTW -- I see in my original post I called it ticketitaly, but it actually was tickitaly -- the one you tried. Sorry for my mistake, but thanks for trying.
Any other ideas?

cbalaska, email or call Selectitaly and see if that date is available yet. For some reason I think they only release them so many days in advance. Good luck. It is really amazing to see.

IME (and this was almost 4 years ago), if you know your art/just want to look at the painting and don't care about language, then you should be able to easily get a ticket at the venue even if its sold out, especially on a weekend.
My story, I was asked to wait (and did for 30 minutes) to see if I could buy tickets (ie. see if there were no shows, which they said happens a lot). When I was about to get my ticket, I was approached by a tour guide who was leading an Italian tour group. She offered me their extra tickets (abt 50% of the people were no shows) for the booking fee they had paid, something like 3 Euros.
I took the ticket, and the tour polished my Italian... Although I would have had no problem if it had been in another language I didn't know. I just wanted to see the thing...

The official booking site for the Cenacolo (as opposed to a separate, private agency) shows that, except for an early morning slot on 9 March, the first availability is on 12 June:

You could show up and hope for no shows. I do believe that was an option (at least early February last year). We had tickets.
cenacolovinciano.org is the official website.

To make a reservation, please call:
+39 02 89 42 11 46
From Monday to Friday:
from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (GMT+1)
and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (GMT+1)
The Call Center is closed on public holidays and during the festive season.
When you go, make sure you bring your confirmation number. Last March we were running late for our 9:30am viewing and left our confirmation number at the hotel. The lady at check in refused to release our tickets. Her solutions were: Call hotel and have them locate my confirmation number in the room or wait. If there is no show, I may purchase 4 tickets to see it!! She also told me the closest pay phone is across the street. The phone doesn't take coin and I give up trying to buy a phone card and return back to the lobby. Then I asked a different clerk and showed her my credit card that I used to purchase the tickets, she was very uncomfortable, bending backward and took her "extra time" to locate our tickets for the only English tour of the day. Those tickets were sitting in their 9:30 slot with my name on it! Even with this bad taste IN A CHURCH and being short change at train station ("Go, go, go quickly, your train leaves in 3 minutes downstairs, platform 2!" We run and didn't check our change, we had 13 minutes before train leave and not enough time to go back to ticket counter.
), Italy is still our favorite place to visit.
