Killing Time after Arrival MXP
We'll be coming into MXP in the morning from the US and our onward train isn't scheduled until around noon. What is the best play for getting some breakfast or hanging out peacefully after collecting baggage and going through immigration? I suppose we could also get some food before going through immigration and getting bags?

There isn't anywhere remotely worthy of buying food from before immigration and bag delivery. Some OK places at the airport train station, but generally if you have to head into town anyway, do that first thing, and have a much better (and obvs also cheaper) experience there.

y\our best bet is the Sheraton MXP - if you want to take a shower, either a day rate room or find out if you can buy access to their spa. There is NO food/drink between the gate and exiting immigration/customs.

Thanks for the advice! We head from T1 to Gallararte and north to Switzerland. Am aware the airport food options will of course be airport quality, trying to keep things simple - a journey out for food isn't worth it with my slow companions and luggage, plenty of time for that later.

https://www.milanomalpensa-airport.com/en/airport/bar-restaurants <-- you can see what the food options in T1 outside of security are
There is also a Carrefour Express on the lower level on the way to the train station/Sheraton.
From my experience, the Sheraton is probably the best quality option without leaving the airport. Alternatively, the Carrefour does provide some picnic type options.

If you're going to Switzerland via Gallerate - is that on regional trains? If so, just take the next one that comes along, no need to wait around for a specific train.
