urgent - time needed to depart VCE?

My daughter's had a schedule change to her flight, and she now needs to leave early in the morning from a Venice island hotel to VCE. Delta recommends arriving 3 hours prior to departure due to airport construction/security. To make it there 3 hrs prior, she'll need to take a private water taxi (80 euro) to public transit to airport, since public water bus doesn't start in time.

Question, any recent travelers departed VCE for the US, and how much time did it take? Any tips to expedite moving through VCE for US Delta flight?

Thanks!

PS - it's almost 7pm there, her flight is at 11am tomorrow

When you say a Venice island, I assume you mean Venice. Venice consists of about 118 islands. The hotel can get her a water taxi. The water taxi drops you off right at the airport. The dock is inside the airport, in fact. She shouldn't take a water taxi to public transport, if by that you mean a bus to the airport for 80 euros. A private water taxi from Venice to the airport is about 110 euros, and is well worth it for early morning flights. It's about a 25 minute ride from most hotels to the airport. Venice unveiled its remodeled terminal just a few weeks ago, so I won't know how long it takes to get through it, as I'm not leaving out of VCE until July 25th. Just tell her to have the hotel arrange for a water taxi to take her to the airport, not to public transportation. And remind her, there is no tipping. She just pays the fee. https://www.motoscafivenezia.it/eng/
