What's your itinerary. Have you done some research on the sites, the neighborhoods, the things to do, and the food that Milan is noted for? Nobody can give you suggestions on your itinerary if we don't know what it is.

What sort of things do you like? First time in Milan or have you seen the main sights (Galleria/Duomo/La Scala/Fashion Quadrilateral/Castello)? Museums? House tours? Luxury shopping or more affordable? Dining: traditional or modern food and/or vegetarian? Food shopping?

There are lots of options.

Cimitero Monumentale di Milano

My wife and I made an afternoon out of the beautiful works of art at the Monumentale Cemetery. Google it and look at the images, just fantastic!

+1 to everything Perche and ckendallalready mentioned. In addition to itinerary and interests, will you be traveling with luggage? Do any in your party have any mobility issues? Have you been to Milan and surrounding area before?

Help us help you.

We went to Milan for a weekend in December, and stayed at the Park Hyatt (horribly expensive, booked the basic room and used the suite upgrade for a very nice suite). The best part was the location of the hotel where we could walk to most attractions - the galleria shops, the duomo (bought tickets and spent 4 hours there), the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci (bought tickets online months before), Milan Castle (there is a park in front of it, lovely to walk around), Leonardo da Vinci Science & Technology museum. We just got a map and walked around the city. We did not have time to see the inside of the opera (La Scala). We are not drinkers nor foodie so cannot offer much in these areas. When we visit a European city, we prefer to stay near attractions and do a lot of walking so when we are tired we just go back to hotel to rest, then go out again.
