Could someone direct me to an online map of Malpensa Airport in Milan Italy.
If their web site had one I couldn't find it. We are flying in on AA at 8:10 AM and changing to Aegean leaving at 11:40 AM. I'm assuming this is plenty of time but I would like to know where I'm going. They do not have an inter-line
baggage agreement so I will have to handle that as well. Thanks.

There are some maps on their website but I'm afraid I can't make much sense.

denevans36, welcome to FlyerTalk! It's about time you made your first post.

We're going to move this over to the regional forum which covers Italy.

Happy Travels.

On the link above, use the "Airport Zone" tab.

Here's the background image for the map of T1 and its two satellites:

I'm pretty sure that you'll arrive into one of the T1 satellites and depart out of the other, but I'm not certain which is which. I saw conflicting information about that.

In the main section of that terminal where the satellites connect to it, you can see some parallel blue lines inside orangish areas. That's baggage claim.

Edited to add: I trust bdemaria's info below that says that they are both currently operating from the same terminal. As I said, I found conflicting info.

When I flew Aegean from MXP, it was from terminal 2. Had to go by bus from T1 to T2. The bus was a short stroll directly out from the T1 baggage claim area, IIRC. You might want to check with Aegean before you depart.

Here are links to two maps that might help --

Both American and Aegean currently operate out of T1. The OP will not need to worry about changing terminals. There are two wings (A and B) at T1.

To the OP: B/c of the interline issue, you will need to pick up your bags which means you'll have to go thru immigration and end up landside. In other words, your activity will be no different than any other arriving [not transiting] passenger to MXP. Once you get the bags, you'll have to go from the arrivals floor to the departures floor and drop the bags at an Aegean desk. They will direct you to your departure gate from there.

They aren't labeled b/c at MXP the smaller carriers, such as Aegean, share gates so they depart from different gates on different days.

Thanks to all of you for the clarification - particularly of the
baggage issue. It sounds as if we have plenty of time to
make the change if the flight arrives close to the scheduled
time.

My wife and I will be staying at MXP for one night on Sat Oct 16, and the next morning flying LX to Zurich, and then connecting on a flight to Canada.

Is LX located in Terminal 1. I ask, because one option is to take the hotel located in Terminal 1.

Do all the major airport hotels offer complimentary shuttle between the airport and themselves? Are all the major airport hotels of good enough quality, at least for a 1 night stay?

You can find terminal information on the official MXP website - which is available in Italian and English.

The vast majority of carriers use Terminal 1.

As for issues of shuttles: check w/the hotel directly. Some will, some won't.

I don't find airport hotels near MXP any better or any worse than those located near other Italian airports. There is supposed to be a new Sheraton opening soon - and it will have direct access to the airport. This will be a welcome addition to the area, as I find that most properties that advertise themselves as convenient to MXP are really not convenient.

I would consider the new Sheraton:

I do not think the "Sheraton Club" exists anymore. Now, there is the Starwood Preferred membership program. I am a Gold member - will I have access to the lounge?

I would contact the hotel directly and ask about the SC; but more importantly I would contact the hotel directly to confirm that indeed they will actually be open in mid October when you are there.

The website states a scheduled October 1 opening, but IME these sorts of things have a tendency to get pushed back by a few weeks. If it does indeed open as scheduled - and you are there just two weeks after it opens - be prepared for issues [i.e., plugs that may not operate, issues with hot water, etc...] that will still need to be worked out.
