How are the rooms?
Newly renovated in 2019 September. Renovation was bedroom only. All others are same to before the renovation. To be honest, room became to cheap-looking. Biggest disappointment point is remove of writing desk. Same concept of ANA Tokyo. Recent IHG room design is crazy!
Video of Club InterContinental Bath View Room:
How is the Club Lounge?
Finally, this hotel opened Club Lounge. Nice afternoon tea, decent evening cocktail included Duval-Leroy Champagne. However, breakfast selection is very poor. Club guest is able to choose breakfast from Club or Restaurant. I recommend to have a breakfast at the restaurant.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent stay.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Deluxe King, given Executive Suite.
How are the rooms?
Newly renovated and done very nicely. It is a true luxury hotel suite. Two bathrooms, a large living room with dining table where a couple of nights I had an excellent room service dinner, exploiting the mini-bar wine and cocktails and watching football on the big screen TV.
How is the exec. lounge?
No lounge. A 25% dining coupon was given which I used one night at the Round Robin bar.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
A bowl of fruit.
How was the minibar?
Very good with relatively high end spirits, microbrew and decent wine and Champagne. I had to call down to have it refreshed though.
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
Nice upgrade and great F&B.
Excellent front desk staff
-Bad
Nothing.
Value for € or Priority Club Points?
Yes, the rates were lower than normal as none of the hotels in DC seem busy right now. As long as it isn't an inauguration year, January is a great time to visit. And the weather was better than I could have imagined. Summer like temperatures.
Would you return?
Yes

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, hugely. To note, this was a points stay.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked lead in, received Deluxe Bath View. <-- Explained below
How are the rooms?
Small, obviously, but adequate. Plenty of room to store luggage away from the bed/living area.
Modern design. Fresh, not worn. Plenty of electricity sockets.
A smallish couch next to the bedroom window (perfect spot for a couch) overlooking Shinagawa.
Nespresso.
Bathroom wonderful. "Japanese" toilet.
Huge shower/bath combo with views down over the city. Possible to sit in the bath at night and look out across the vastness of Tokyo (hence the room type description).
How is the exec. lounge?
Fantastic. Quiet without being dull. Classy.
Staff provide drink service but plenty of staff. Nibbles self serve (olives, crudités, dips, charcuterie) plus high quality Japanese-style canapés offered - superbly presented. Seemed to be a good selection of spirits, sakes etc.
Champagne was Duval Leroy, there was a rose bubbles too but I didn't see the brand.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
Japanese tea selection, fruit basket. Fizzy water (my profile request).
How was the minibar?
Good minibar. A decent Sake (well within the RA budget). Wines, but no bubbles. Usual softies, and Pocari Sweat. (Thumbs up from me!)
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
All staff from start to finish. Fantastic welcome. Whisked to the club.
It felt like I didn't check in, it was just done for me while I sipped a bubbles.
Location - I like Shinagawa anyway (memories) but easy to reach "Tokyo", Shinjuku, Shibuya and airports. 30 mins train to Haneda.
- NB can reach Shinagawa station under cover all the way.
F&B - nice bubbles but exceptional food.
Once again, staff. That threshold where they're friendly and engaging without being too familiar.
Also to note - super RA recognition. They went the extra mile without me asking, it just felt like very high quality customer service.
Breakfast in the buffet area of the restaurant - again great service, decent spread, high quality. Food always stocked, not busy.
7-Eleven at the entrance for any late night sake or ramen needs.
-Bad
I struggle to think of anything. The interior atrium is perhaps a little outdated but that's a churlish whinge given the overall quality of this place.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Points - definitely
$ - the prices I've seen recently, I can't wait to return.
Would you return?
I can't imagining staying anywhere else in Tokyo. Superb.

IC Lisbon
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent so far.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked basic room on European flash sale and received a junior suite
How are the rooms?
Newly renovated and done very nicely. I wouldn't call it a suite, as its in fact a bigger room with a proper bathroom, i.e. separate shower and tub compared to the combined shower/tub of the other categories below junior suite
How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent, from high quality food / drinks over very attentive staff. Very personal service, can't praise them enough
Did you receive a welcome gift?
A bowl of fruit.
How was the minibar?
to be honest, I haven't had the chance to look at it, also not high on my priority list. When I can have decent drinks in a nice setting at the lounge, I don't need to continue in the room
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
Nice upgrade and great F&B in the lounge and as well at the Akla restaurant
Excellent and accomodating front desk staff
-Bad
Nothing.
Value for € or Priority Club Points?
Yes,
Would you return?
Yes without hesitation. Whenever I'm in Lisbon this is my hotel

InterContinental Düsseldorf
Were you generally happy with the hotel?
Yes, as usual.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked basic, got Executive Suite w/ balcony.
This is also what I got las time in Dec 2019.
Definitely a more generous property than IC Berlin, that sticks strictly to 2-cat-upgrade.
How was the room?
ca. 60 sqm, high floor and beautifully designed. Tenth floor. Ceiling-high windows. Newly renovated. Bed was comfortable.
Awesome conditioning system, 16°C in bed room is no problem. +++ large balcony
How is the exec. lounge?
Staff is very attentive and friendly, on the second floor, also beautifully designed with good acoustic in the atrium.
Breakfast: 6.30-11am. No choice between restaurant & club.
Tea time: 2-5pm. Offering was decent, little pastries and sandwiches.
Happy hour from 5 to 8pm, light dinner from 6 to 8pm: tortellini, veal meatballs, noodles, red cabbage, beef tenderloin, cod fillet.
No comparison to the IC Berlin, let alone IC Frankfurt.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
Fruit plate + keychain.
How was the mini-bar?
Decent. 3x beer, white wine, 7x hard liqueur (Absolut Vodka, Jack Daniel's, Jonnie Walker, Jägermeister, Killepitsch, 2x Gordon's Gin), red wine, 2x Red Bull, juices and other soft drinks, peanuts, Toblerone, Hanuta, etc.
What was good?
15EUR Restaurant & Bar credit granted.
The limited minibar credit was never mentioned and was not applied.
The lounge was and still is a stable anchor in terms of quality and quantity in times of standardization fetishists.
Large balcony.
What was bad?
-No breakfast in restaurant.
Value for $?
Düsseldorf's 5-star-properties are comparatively expensive, paid ca. 130EUR per night, so my stay had very good value.
Without the RA, I would have booked the Indigo for half the price. Price discrepancy between 4* and 5* is very high in Düsseldorf.
Would you return?
Yes!

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic, given Executive
How are the rooms?
Smallish, but very well appointed.
How is the exec. lounge?
No lounge.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
Some fruit and cookies
How was the minibar?
Rather poor in comparison to other euro IC's. But it has the basics.
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
Good efficient staff
-Bad
Nothing as long as you realize it is a small boutique hotel.
Value for € or Priority Club Points?
Yes the rates were lowered due to low demand these days.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent stay.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King Deluxe, given Executive Suite.
How are the rooms?
Newly renovated, but essentially the same suite I had the last time. Just the colors and fabrics have changed to lighter colors and tones. The entire hotel is undergoing renovations, but I got one of the few renovated suites available.
How is the exec. lounge
The club is currently closed for renovations. But the hotel generously gave me a $100 F&B credit at the restaurant/bar. I enjoyed dinner at the bar, which is one of my favorite IC bars. Sadly with business declining there is talk of maybe closing the bar down until business returns.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
A bowl of fruit.
How was the minibar?
Shocking news! They claim there is a new MA law that bans free alcohol in the minibar. The same booze is in the mini-bar, but RA's have to pay for it. But the $100 F&B credit helps soften the blow. And there are some nice nuts and things that RA's can grab from the minibar.
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
Nice upgrade and generous care with the club closed.
-Bad
Sadness over the hotel being less than half full.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Large and comfortable. The exact same room I had a month or so ago.

How was the minibar?
Same good minibar as always here. Nice selection.

IC Sao Paulo
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent stay.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got a Paulista Executive Suite
How are the rooms?
Full suite with two rooms, around 60 sqm
Living room with very comfortable sofa and desk
Small bathroom, with seperate tub and shower, very nice toiletries that name I forgot
How is the exec. lounge
Closed right now
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
- Very friendly welcome and very helpful hotel staff
- Efficient and fast pre-arrival communication
- Outstanding location, especially for restaurants and bars that are in walking distance or a short ride away
-Bad
- America is fond of soft mattresses?
- Could use a little updating here and there
Value for EUR or Priority Club Points?
Was arguably the most value for money high-end property at that time
Would you return?
Yes

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent stay.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got a Club room with outdoor shower
How are the rooms?
Newly refurbished, very modern.
Spacious rooms at around 40 to 50 sqm, small balcony with two chairs.
Outdoor and indoor shower, tub, large double-sink bathroom
Very appealing decor
How is the exec. lounge
Currently being renovated. Happy hour is served at the lobby bar, soft-drinks available all day at the food outlets
What was good and what was bad?
Good
- After the renovation is complete, this will be an opulent yet elegant beach resort. Much more appealing than the other monsterous resorts in Cancun
- Staff was helpful
- Very nice SPA and good massages - at exorbitant prices
- Beach and sea around the hotel is very nice
-Bad
- America is fond of soft mattresses?
- Renovations still going on, would have appreciated a note on the website
- Pre-arrival communication did not work at all
- I had to learn that the wall is not intended to keep US-Americans out of Mexico
Value for EUR or Priority Club Points?
Yes
Would you return?

- Very nice SPA and good massages - at exorbitant prices
- Beach and sea around the hotel is very nice
-Bad
- America is fond of soft mattresses?
- Renovations still going on, would have appreciated a note on the website
- Pre-arrival communication did not work at all
- I had to learn that the wall is not intended to keep US-Americans out of Mexico
Value for EUR or Priority Club Points?
Yes
Would you return?
Yes

I will be staying here in January. Did the hotel staff mention when the Club Lounge renovation would be completed? Was breakfast provided in the restaurant?
