Ambassador Renewal Going up to $150 August 2012
Heard this from staff at an IC, asking me about when my renewal date is and telling me I should renew if it's coming up soon. Effective Aug 10.
I suggest those who are Amb's do the same.
From what I know it's going up from $100 to $150 annually.

Given the fact, that Ambassador enrolment went uip from 150 USD to 200 USD in 2010 (see this thread for reference: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inter...01-2010-a.html) it was just a matter ot time that renewal went up as well.
I had expected it earlier ...

Interesting...on my Ambassador account it still says 5K. Am tempted to wait a couple of more days before pulling the trigger...do you get 10K with the 100$ option, or has it gone up to 150?

Update on 10K points.
I used my referral cert to upgrade Mrs Midnight's account. Her renewal letter dated July 2012 read:
As part of your InterContinental Ambassador membership we would like to offer you
However, upon entering the code yesterday only 5,000 were credited.

The only hope for a few folks is that some hotels don't get the memo and take some time to charge more (I think you can renew at IC's).

Oh... I have another question. I'm assuming the 10% rebate includes Pointbreaks stays? Has anyone who signed up for this option gotten their rebate on a PB stay (or not gotten the rebate on a PB stay)?

This probably isn't a popular sentiment but IMO IC should make the program more exclusive.. either charge more ($500?) and/or make it based on stays. A "club" any Joe Shmuck with $150 can join frankly is not very special. They can throw in breakfast as enhanced benefit, along with that.
