Thanks for the clarification. Now I know how to proceed from here on out.
I was one of those who got the 60000 and then had it suddenly extracted from my account several days later. So far I got as far as a reply from corporate, stating that they would be in touch with me. Well it's been since Sept. 21 and nothing else has ever happened.
I will give it until Monday or Tuesday and then write them back, complaining of lack of response, and go for the courtesy adjustment. Thanks again. I will take 6000 for free, any day.

60 K Deposited and then...
Due to this promotion, few weeks back, when the promotion ended, I noticed 60K PC points deposited in my account and next day they were gone!
No explanation - I thought I earned them but you never know.
