the mail didn't come back, so I suppose it was delivered.
I set Mail to accept and move to a specific folders all messagess coming form interconti.com or ichotelsgroup.com so they shouldn't have gone into spam...
I feel I'm just unlucky as everybody seem to get a reply.

I checked in my emails and the address I used was [email protected] with no other qualifier other than in the message line "re: Stay, April 4/5". The replay came from a personal staff email, but the @ address was exactly the same as the general one.
Why did you use "vieha" instead of "vienna"?

Hmm most IC's within 1 or 2 days, namely
IC BKK
IC Bali
IC SIN
IC CGN
IC BEY
IC SFO (Mark Hopkins)
Never any reply:
IC Berchtesgarden (two emails)
... and very surprisingly one of my fav's that appears to have taken turns for the worse - IC SIN. I emailed them 3 times now in two weeks (twice through web site and once directly to a person) but absolutely zero response. I have no clue what is going on there but since the new GM came in I can not say that the place is the same or better. I believe some former managers like Mr. Yeo and Mr. Tan left too (?) which would explain the mess. Absolutely ticking me off right now. I think I will make it a point and stop by there in two weeks when I'm back in SIN and personally demand an explanation for this absolutely lousy showing. Will keep you updated.
Cheers ....

IC Mark Hopkins (SF) - within hours (always within 24) and some incredibly helpful and friendly staff too ^
IC Budapest - no reply and they didn't even read it (it was to inform them of a status change on an existing booking and they didn't action, i.e. welcome gift, etc. this until my 2nd day when I politely asked about it)

IC San Juan, PR - No response so far a week after my first email to them. I emailed them again with AMB desk on CC last night. AMB desk already replied this morning saying they are going to coordinate with the hotel and get them to respond. ^

Why anybody would rely on email when contacting hotel? I know that it would be the most convenient but you never know if they even receive or if it passes their spam filters.
If I need to contact the hotel in advance (very, very rarely) I call the hotel and get a name of the person who is working on the Club floor and then send an old fashioned fax using Send2Fax directly from my laptop.
I have to say that I love the fact that the Ambassador Service center returns to emails typically in less than a day. The only hotel chain offering the same service is Hilton for their Diamond members.

2. I have a reply in writing, not something someone said that I can't prove.

Mark Hopkins in some hours here as well, no template but normal answer.
They where sorry not being able to honor my request for a bay view room for the deluxe booking = studio suite upgrade. Which I think I can get over due to the fact that they take my pay - WCN - award booking for three nights all in this suite. I should ask if next time an upgrade to a business room with bay view would be better possible as I prefer view and internet for free over suite )))

IC San Juan, PR - Great detailed response
IC San Juan, PR - Although the response was slow (had to get AMB desk invovled) the detail was excellent. I posted the specific details in the thread for this hotel.

This must be a record for me.
I only make importantish travel arrangements by e-mail as experience shows the written word is often required to support what was arranged or agreed.
E-mailed HI at Plymouth UK several times re a planned visit. No response. Resorted to Ambassador desk who made contact and promised that the HI would now make contact direct. They never did.
Staying at IC Madrid in a few days and wanted to arrange transfers.
E-mailed the IC published address three times - no response. Independently received a welcome e-mail from the IC Madrid conciege saying that if I had any requirements in advance of my visit I should contact him direct. "What a great thought" I thought. So I replied with my requirements and received no response. Checked my mail logs - nothing received or rejected. Checked the reply address on the IC Madrid conciege's note and discovered replies were set as InterContinentalHotels at email.ichotelsgroup.com - and I can only guess at who in the group is going to receive that. So the letter asking for any requirements is set so they don't receive any responses! So I sent a note to a promising looking e-mail address in the received e-mail itself. No response.
Is this a record? Should I develop a twitch?

Got a very quick and helpful response from the General Manager, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi.
Used the Concierge service for IC LeGrande and IC Athens. Never got a response that I am aware of from either hotel.
However, when I mentioned not getting a response at IC Athens to the Guest Relations Manager who escorted me to my room, she said she would look into it. The next morning, as I passed by reception, the concierge addressed me by name, inviting me to the hotel, and then proceeded to show me on his computer that a response had been sent out the same day. Must have got stuck in my spam filter - or else, there is a problem with the system;-)
