Intercontinental Perth City Centre (Master Thread)
I just wanted to create a thread as it's opening this weekend. I have a booking for next week but guess no one knows what to expect at this point as they haven't opened yet

I am not sure they do, with the mining bust and recent plethora of plans/builds, which is why this is not an addition but a rebrand/rebuild of the Rydges. Room rates are at an all time low with more developments coming online.

I'm popping in tomorrow to take a look.
It needed some serious coin thrown at it to get it from Rydges standard to Interconitnental standard. Certainly, looking at the lobby and the restaurants, they do seem to have thrown some money at it all.
No idea about the rooms yet - but I did see truckloads of boxes of quilts and pillows etc turning up over the last few days.

Yeah, but with QF PER-LHR non-stop, Perth will have a tourism boom especially short term visitors in the foreseeable 3-4 years.

perth is nice, Margaret river lovely and the coast a delight but I don’t need to fly non stop for 18 plus hours to find that experience at better value elsewhere.

Since you do not represent the 200 daily non-stop passengers (leisure or business) between LHR and PER, clearly there is no need for you argue on their behave.

LOL, why would that make a difference, those taking the non stop are unlikely to see the benefit of a stopover, and with 3000 new rooms it makes Diddly squat difference with one flight.

I was actually the first person to stay in my room when I stayed last month.
Staff from different intercontinentals around the country / world - so they mostly knew what they were doing.

I've had cause to stay at the IC Perth four times over the past month. The staff are absolutely *exceptional* in every way. I've never been served so well as I was during all four stays. The rooms are really stunning and of course brand new (yes, a touch small, but I wasn't bothered by it) and the lobby/bar areas are very comfortable. In my opinion it's the best IC in Australia on service alone.

Some of the staff had also previously worked at the IC Burswood before its rebrand. They jumped at the chance to return into the IC fold....
