Crowne Plaza Milano Malpensa, Milano, Italy: upgrade to exec room, no further advantages (there is no club lounge)

Crowne Plaza Amsterdam Schiphol, Hoofddorp, Netherlands: upgrade to club room, NO club lounge access, no further advantages

Crowne Plaza Venice East, Quarto Daltino, Italy: no advantages (there is no club lounge)

Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Center, Moscow, Russia: no advantages

Crowne Plaza Istanbul Asia, Istanbul, Turkey: upgrade, no further advantages

Romain_ Aug 3, 2015 5:49 am

All stays as Platinum as there was no Spire at the time.

Crowne Plaza Crawley, UK: no advantage.

Crowne Plaza Melbourne, Australia: no advantage that I know of except sometimes fruits / wine in the room. Sometimes an "upgrade" to the deluxe room if I book the most basic one, but nothing guaranteed. Definitely no free breakfast. I don't think the hotel has a club lounge.

Crowne Plaza Xiamen, China: club room with club access. Possibility to have breakfast at the main restaurant.

Crowne Plaza West Hanoi, Vietnam: club access + suite, although I don't think the suite is guaranteed (lounge is for platinum). I think it's also possible to eat at the main restaurant.

Land-of-Miles Aug 3, 2015 5:50 am

I am never wholly sure whether upgrades etc. I get are down to Plat or RA but:-

CP Brussels, upgrade to suite

CP Bruges, booked suite no other upgrade or benefit

CP Manchester City, consistent upgrade to club room/Junior suite and Club Access

CP Manchester Airport, club room and lounge access

CP London Ealing, Club room and access as RA, upon availability as Plat

CP LAX, club room and lounge access

FFlash Aug 3, 2015 5:51 am

Kudos for this thread ^

Crowne Plaza Helsinki, Finland: club access with club breakfast included (more limited than in-restaurant) on being upgraded from standard to Jr Suite. Plat elite.

Scuba, I can confirm CP Bangkok no longer gives club access for free. I stayed there in March and was offered an upgrade to club floor + club access for $120. This covered all five nights. I thought it was a decent deal so I took it. I was using my into the nights and points.

My point was you no longer get club access on award nights but do get an upgrade. Whereas I believe on paid you still should get club for free

Your stay was non-paid-nights so doesn't show the 2015 paid stay treatment

I was given access in Seattle when only a Gold.

I've only stayed at CP LAX once, around 2011, and I seem to recall I got a breakfast voucher only for me as the Plat, but nothing for MrsNWIFlyer - and even that might have been included in the corporate rate anyway.

CP in Copenhagen is excellent - I got lounge access and a couple of other beanies in June, obviously before the introduction of the new level, although whether this might be restricted to Spire only in the future remains to be seen. As I won't be staying there before I reach the qualifying criteria, someone else will have to find out!

I didn't realize this thread pertained to only paid stays. I can't find that anywhere in the title or body of the OP. As far as upgrades/club access on award stays, it is well known that CP Lumpini did as recently as December upgrade plats to club level and provide club access on award stays. My experience in March was contrary to that and so I posted my experience. I'm sorry you don't feel others experience is relevant. That's not an issue I can help you with.

I suggest you take time to better read and digest the posts that FTers take effort to post. If you had done you would see that earlier posters including me refer to both their award and paid experiences if applicable.

Your stay report is valid for award nights but not for paid nights which is all I pointed out

I have both paid and award experience at CP Bangkok and mentioned the current different treatment between the two types paid & award. I said the that award nights no longer get club lounge based on comments but that paid nights could still get one club lounge even after they stopped giving club on award nights during 2014. I tend to pay rather than use points here.

I suggest you re-read the very last sentence of your post. I was responding to your uncertainty about award stays. Take your drama somewhere else....it doesn't belong to me end of story.

Sorry, I just recalled that I have been given lounge access at LAX on an award stay.

Cleaned up the Wiki and 1st post to make this thread more useful. Hopefully this thread can identify which CPs consistently provide food & bev benefits for elites and what those benefits look like. Data points for *nicer* Holiday Inns are also welcome (eg. Hong Kong Golden Mile, Helsinki Downtown, Abu Dhabi etc.).

Similar to the Hilton breakfast thread ^

In september I will be staying there again, it is an excellent CP indeed.

Not that anyone actually will ever get to the CP in Billings, Montana, but,

Booked points room for 25k points.

Upgraded online 2 days before to an 'executive' room.

There is a lounge with some food items and beer/ wine. Not much really.

Headed out to the micro breweries and Irish pubs within a block or two.

Will try breakfast in the lounge in the morning.

AlexB Aug 5, 2015 8:24 pm

As Platinum Ambassador:

CP London Kensington: Upgrade to 2-level suite if you e-mail in advance. Club lounge access consistently denied, though available for an upcharge.

CP Orlando Universal: Upgrade to suite and club lounge access.

You mean e-mail them in advance asking for an upgrade? I'll be there in a few months and would like lounge access, but am not counting on it at all.

As a Plat member, was at CP HK East last X'mas and this summer on Points. Both times I get breakfast for one, either myself or my wife can take this breakfast, but no lounge access or and no club floor room. One welcome drink per guest in the room, in my case 3.

Hotel: CP HK East
Location: Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong
IHG status(s): IC Amb Plat
Paid / award night: Points
Breakfast in restaurant: 1 Guest
Upgrade to club floor: Denied

Staying at CP London Ealing next week, booked into a standard room (4 nights on points + 1 paid). What's your recent experience with getting club lounge access when staying in a standard room? I'm a Spire Amb member. Cheers!

ryry2003 Jul 8, 2016 5:51 pm

On checking in at C.P. Changi received usual welcome letter with usual Platinum benefits only this time this was included.
"Receive upgrade to Club room and full Club benefits when you book a premier room."

Stayed on points but paid for Club access. Will be back on paid stay in Premier room next week so hopefully will be upgraded as per letter.

Stayed at the above hotel in June 2016. Paid for the room, not an award night.
I am platinum ambassador and was given free breakfast and lounge access.

CP The Hamilton Washington

Hotel: CP The Hamilton
Location: Washington D.C.
IHG status(s): Spire
Paid / award night: Paid
Breakfast in restaurant: -
Club floor: unkown, did not get it
Club lounge access: unkown, did not get it

CP Greater Noida New Delhi

IHG status(s): Spire
Paid / award night: Paid
Breakfast in restaurant: Full 5 star buffet for free

Club lounge access: Free evening buffet in club lounge, free drinks, barkeeper makes cocktails, great view (pretty high floor)
Other comments: Free upgrade to club suite, two rooms, two bath rooms, corner room with 270° view over Greater Noida (pretty high floor),
6 free water bottles per day.
On welcome I received a bottle of red wine, various homemade salted nuts, chocolate nuts and some other snacks.
This could easily be an Intercontinental hotel and hold its own against Tokyo or Seoul.

archimedez Jul 9, 2016 1:07 pm

Holiday Inn Taipei

Hotel: Holiday Inn Taipei
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
IHG status(s): Spire
Paid / award night: Paid
Breakfast in restaurant: -
Club floor: Got a club suite
Club lounge access: Free breakfast and evening buffet, free drinks in club lounge
Other comments: Free upgrade to club suite, living room with office space, two bed rooms, two bath rooms,
four free water bottles.
On welcome I received 5-6 gifts, like a box of FTOP black tea, instant noodles, different sweets and snacks.
This hotel is not in downtown, nor is it near the airport, so you need a driver or a taxi to get around.

Looking to stay at the CP in Seattle anyone been there before?

cumbrianbill Jul 10, 2016 1:25 am

CP - Newcastle

Hotel: Crowne Plaza Stephenson Quarter
Location: Newcastle
IHG status(s): Spire
Paid / award night: Paid - standard room
Breakfast in restaurant: (list only if offered) Offered for £9.00
Upgrade to club floor: I've always been upgraded to club floor - I would imagine that it's subject to availability.
Club lounge access: Granted - see above
Club lounge services / quality: Coffee and soft drinks during the day. Alcohol and canapes available during evening hours. The hours used to be 17:00 to 21:00 (I was surprised) but they've been rationalised to 17:30 to 19:30 ( to bring the lounge in line with others, but maybe because 4 hours of free alcohol is not a good business model on Tyneside )
Other comments: New hotel, convenient for railway station and town centre.
