Not sure why I was upgraded to a club room as a club member, but I'll take it! Club lounge left quite a bit to be desired, still, beggars can't be choosers. As a Club Level guest, you can take breakfast in the restaurant if you wish - definitely recommended here over the continental breakfast in the lounge -- unless you want peace and quiet, as for most of the morning, I was the only one in the lounge!

Club lounge services / quality: Management has reduced the service offering in the "concierge lounge" in the last six months. Only non-alcoholic soda pop beverages and coffee are offered. They used to provide a selection of food at breakfast and at night as well as complimentary alcoholic drinks. Platinum status guests receive one coupon for a free alcoholic drink in the bar, which is closed pending renovation and relocated to the top-level 25th floor.
Other comments: Upgrades given, but no late checkout -- not even as an IHG platinum. Management sees the old club lounge, which this property calls the "concierge lounge" becoming a "business lounge" but the computer doesn't work, there's no printer, no copying machine, and no newspaper either in the lounge, the lobby or delivered to the room.

Late March. Booked it before I saw any rumors of club access at CP being a Spire benefit. Got more value out of my Spire status in a four night stay here than I thought I would all year. Lounge breakfast options were sufficient, but the restaurant had a really nice spread. Beer, espresso etc. available all day in the lounge with self serve cocktail bar in the evening.

Other comments: Upgraded from cheapest booking to a King on the Executive floors, they don't have a lounge but offered 'afternoon tea' in the Sky Bar from 3-5pm and 'Cocktail time' from 5-7pm, moot for us as we got to the room at 6.55pm. Other goodies included access to the Business centre and meeting room. 600 points or 'a' free drink were offered at check-in. Parking was discounted to 1,200 yen though that may be for all guests. Heavy discount at the (excellent) Japanese restaurant on the top floor but again that may be for all guests. Very central and connected by covered walkway to the main station and the shinkansen. Pleasant stay.

Other comments: Hard to believe that this is the same hotel that Viennafly stayed at but my understanding from a previous recent stay is that if no Club level upgrade is available for Spire you can now choose Club lounge access in lieu of welcome points or drink. However on this occasion we were upgraded anyway so enjoyed the wonderful lounge and its excellent offerings including a very good continental breakfast and evening tapas and drinks. Even during the day there are hot and cold drinks and pastries available. We also received 600 welcome points the day after check-in.
